Exhibition of paper-cutting works by Laimutė Fedosejeva “Inside the Sounds of Kanklės“ (at Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania)
Kanklės is an inspiration not only for musicians and music lovers but also for various craftsmen of Lithuania. The exhibition of paper-cutting works “Inside the Sounds of Kanklės“ is Laimutė‘s Fedosejevas‘ 37th personal exhibition. Being a certificated craftswoman, Laimutė Fedosejeva has already cooperated in 73 collective exhibitions and numerous projects in Lithuania, Ireland, Austria, Belarus, Estonia, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Germany.
The exhibition will be open from May 23rd to June 3rd at the Art Space of Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania (5th floor).

Kybur, vybur, kabarai. Musical games for children

“Kybur vybur kabarai” is an event dedicated to the smartest and the most curious children – the ones going to kindergarten. “Kybur vybur kabarai” will invite all the children to learn how to sing, dance and play. These are the things that excite child’s imagination, help him get to know the world, give the joy of communication, develop child’s language, hearing and rhythmic capacities. The activities will be conducted by Nijolė Grivačiauskienė, the leader of the family school “Tindi rindi riuška” . The ensemble from kindergarten “Baltų šalelė” will also perform at the event (led by Džiuljeta Mankauskaitė).

Saulytė. Folk event for children and youth performers

Courtyard of Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum (Vilniaus str. 41)

“Saulytė” is the only children folk event in Vilnius. For the 26th time, it will gather together children and youth performers from Vilnius, Kaunas, Utena, Druskininkai and representatives of ethnic minorities (Tatar and Russian). The event will also invite kids to enjoy different workshops (weaving, candy-making) and to watch a performance of Traditions and Folklore Theatre “Antis” which will represent a play created according to a traditional folk tale (taken from Jonas’ Basanavičius’ collection).

Taukšt, taukšt katučių. Musical games for babies

“Taukšt tauškt katučių” is an event dedicated to families having babies. It is well known that this kind of activities contribute to children’s creativity and motility. During the event, parents will be invited to play and sing lullabies to their children. The learning process will be facilitated by our guests: theatre for babies “Šilkaus pupa” (led by Kristina Savickytė-Damanskienė), mothers from folk ensemble “Ratilio”, folk ensemble “Ilsu” from Tatar Cultural Centre (led by Almira Traškelienė, concertmaster Liutauras Milišauskas).
