THE KALYMNIAN UNION OF ATHENS

 

The Kalymnian Union of Athens was founded in 1936 by people from the island of Kalymnos (located on the south-eastern edge of the Aegean, in the Dodecanese island complex) living in Athens, Greece. The Union aims to promote the cultural heritage of the Kalymnos island, both within Greece and abroad.

Founded in 2010 in Melbourne, Australia, the folklore ensemble The Lost Clog brings together ten Lithuanian singers to breathe new life into archaic Lithuanian songs.

Their repertoire is a tongue-in-cheek celebration of Lithuanian folk songs and the incidental humour arising from literal translations into English which is done sometimes.

TENORE SANTA RUCHE ONIFERI

 

The Tenore Santa Ruche Oniferi formed in 2003 in the small town of Oniferi in the Barbagia region of Sardinia. They perform cantu a tenòre, a style of polyphonic folk singing characteristic of the island of Sardinia.

KRALYTSYA

 

The folklore ensemble Kralytsya was founded in 1991 at the Department of Folklore, Folk Songs and Instrumental Performances of the Kiev National University of Culture and Arts in Ukraine. The main direction of the creative activity of the ensemble is the research and popularisation of folk customs, rituals, songs, choreography, and instrumental music of Ukraine.

Lüü-Türr is an archaic men’s singing group, which came together in 2012 in Aruküla, Northern Estonia. The group performs regilaul − traditional archaic Estonian folk songs.
