The Kalymnian Union of Athens was founded in 1936 by people from the island of Kalymnos (located on the south-eastern edge of the Aegean, in the Dodecanese island complex) living in Athens, Greece. The Union aims to promote the cultural heritage of the Kalymnos island, both within Greece and abroad.

The folklore ensemble Kralytsya was founded in 1991 at the Department of Folklore, Folk Songs and Instrumental Performances of the Kiev National University of Culture and Arts in Ukraine. The main direction of the creative activity of the ensemble is the research and popularisation of folk customs, rituals, songs, choreography, and instrumental music of Ukraine.
